We're offering PlecoDict 1.0 (the primary version of our software sold from spring of 2005 through fall of 2008) at a special discount on Palm OS only to provide people with a more economical way to start using our software. 1.0 is missing some of the snazzy new features in Pleco 2.0, but it's fast and reliable, and in addition to costing less it will also run on a much cheaper handheld than 2.0 (including some used models you can find for less than US $50) - see this page for information on which sorts of handhelds it can run on.

If you decide you want to upgrade to 2.0 later on, you can do so for just US $35.00 - that upgrade can be purchased through the My Orders page. Once you've upgraded to 2.0, you can also switch to the Windows Mobile version of Pleco if you buy a compatible Windows Mobile handheld. The upgrade includes the same two dictionaries (ABC and NWP) that you get in the 1.0 bundle, but gives you access to all of the other new features in 2.0 including improved flaschards, stroke order diagrams, audio, document reading, and full-text search.
