Bundled Packages

The easiest / cheapest way to upgrade your copy of Pleco from the basic version is to purchase a bunch of add-ons in a discounted bundle.

Basic Bundle (US $49.95) - includes the NWP English-Chinese Pinyin Dictionary - a good English-Chinese complement to the built-in Pleco Basic Chinese-English dictionary - along with the full-screen handwriting, flashcards, stroke order diagrams, document reader, and both audio pronunciation add-ons.

Professional Bundle (US $99.95) - includes the ABC Chinese-English Comprehensive, ABC English-Chinese, and 21st Century English-Chinese dictionaries, along with the handwriting / flashcards / stroke order / document reader / audio add-ons. The ABC English-Chinese is shorter but more learner-friendly (includes Pinyin), the 21st Century dictionary is massive but doesn't include Pinyin (though you can look up the Pinyin / definition for words in its entries by tapping on them).

Complete Bundle (US $149.95) - includes all 7 available add-on dictionaries, along with the handwriting / flashcards / stroke order / document reader / audio add-ons as above.

Educational Pricing

We also offer educational discounts on all of our iPhone add-ons and bundles. As an experiment, for the moment we're doing this on the "honor system" - if you're a full-time student or teacher, go into the "Add-ons" tab in Pleco, tap on the name of the add-on you want to purchase, then enable the switch under "Educational Discount" to receive your discount, no verification / student ID required.

Please do not abuse this system to obtain a discount if you're not a qualified educational user; we can very easily restrict future educational purchases to pre-approved iPhones / iPods (or disable them altogether) if we find that people are claiming educational discounts they're not entitled to (wouldn't even require a software update), but we're hoping to spare educational users from jumping through the hoops they've had to to get educational discounts from us in the past.

Educational discounts vary from 20-50% off of the full price, depending on the particular product. (the educational discounts on bundles are all about 30%)
