How to Find your "HotSync Username"

NOTE: HotSync Usernames are CASE-SENSITIVE.

There are two ways to do this. If you've already installed the demo version of PlecoDict, simply go to the "Ordering" screen and it'll tell you what your HotSync username is. To get to the "Ordering" screen, go to your Palm's menu bar (see explanation below) and choose "Ordering" from the "Help" menu.

You can also obtain your HotSync name from the HotSync program that's installed on every Palm; the HotSync username is located in the upper right hand corner of that program's main screen. Just go to the application launcher screen (see below) and choose "HotSync" and that will bring up the HotSync program:

If you don't have access to the device that you will be installing our software on, we suggest that you wait to make your purchase until you do; your product serial number or keyfile is keyed to your HotSync username, so we can't fulfill your order until we have that information from you. Please do not enter "Gift Certificate" or "Anonymous" or any other random text in place of a HotSync Username on your order form; if you do that, the serial number or keyfile we generate for you won't work.

If you're ordering copies of our software for more than one device at the same time, add a separate item to the cart for each HotSync username; do not put both usernames in the same field or include an additional username in the "Notes" area in the "Payment Details" screen.

Getting to the menu bar: on most Palm OS handhelds, you can access the menu bar by tapping on the Menu icon, which is located in the bottom left corner of the silkscreened Graffiti handwriting input area at the bottom of your device's screen. Some Palm OS devices, such as the Tungsten C, Treo 600/650/680/700p/755p, Centro, and Clie TG50, don't have a Graffiti area, and on those devices there's typically a button you can push or hold down to bring it up; consult your user manual for details.

Getting to the application launcher: the application launcher icon typically looks like a little house and is located just above the button for getting to the menu bar. Just as with the menu icon, on some devices it's not an icon at all and instead is a physical button located somewhere around your device's keyboard; consult your user manual for details.
