Cheng & Tsui English-Chinese Lexicon of Business Terms
English-Chinese business dictionary, with 3846 entries covering over 9000 common business terms. This is a demo version; the full version can be purchased and unlocked for $29.95 by logging on to My Orders and clicking on the appropriate link. To access the demo version in PlecoDict, switch into English-to-Chinese mode, then tap-hold the dictionary selection button and choose the "C&T Biz" dictionary from the list - simply tapping on the button won't work.
Once the dictionary is purchased/unlocked, it'll come up like any other English-Chinese dictionary, but PlecoDict tries to avoid using demo-version dictionaries when unlocked ones are available, so the tap-hold procedure is necessary to try out the C&T dictionary demo.

How to install:
Palm OS: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Then, open up that folder and double-click on the database file (should have a .pdb at the end of its name) to queue it up for installation to your Palm. If your Palm has an SD or Memory Stick flash memory card installed, you may want to install the dictionary to there instead of to your Palm's main memory - to do this, press the "Change Destination" button and move the file to the memory card, or if there is no "Change Destination" button then simply drag the file into the "Expansion Card" box. Finally, HotSync your Palm with your PC and the file should copy over.
Pocket PC: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Connect your Pocket PC to your computer, go to "My Computer" and "Mobile Device." In that Mobile Device folder, open up the first icon (it will likely say "My Windows Mobile-Based Device") and open up the "SD Card" or "Storage Card" folder inside of that. Drag the extracted file into that folder. Finally, open up PlecoDict, choose "Quit" from the Dict menu, then run PlecoDict again - you should now have access to the dictionary.

Old Versions: At present, flashcards linked to entries from one version of a free dictionary database will not work correctly with a newer version of that database. If you update your CEDICT or Adso databases and find that some of your flashcards have become "INVALID", install the older databases linked here:
CEDICT (old version)
Adsotrans (old version)
If you change the filenames, you should be able to have both versions of these databases installed simultaneously.
Flashcard Lists
How to install:
Palm OS: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Then, open up that folder and double-click on the database file (should have a .pdb at the end of its name) to queue it up for installation to your Palm. HotSync your Palm with your PC to copy the flashcard list to your Palm's memory. Note that these files must be copied to your Palm's internal memory; they won't work off of an expansion card. You can delete them after you've finished importing them.
Once the files are installed , open up PlecoDict, and go to the "Manage Lists" screen by choosing "Manage Lists" from the "Flashcards" menu. Tap the "Import Lists" button, then select "PalmDoc" in the "From" menu. Choose "GB-2312" in the "Encoding" menu (if it's not already selected), and a list of importable flashcard lists will appear. Select the list you wish to import, and press the Import button. It may take a few minutes - PlecoDict has to match up every word in the flashcard list with a dictionary entry, which can require thousands of dictionary search operations.
Pocket PC: Double-click on the downloaded file and it should automatically extract to a folder. Connect your Pocket PC to your computer, go to "My Computer" and "Mobile Device." Drag the downloaded file into that folder. Next, open up PlecoDict, choose "Manage Flashcards" from the "Flashcards" menu, and go to the "Import" tab. Select "UTF-8" encoding and press the big button; tap on the name of the flashcard file to begin import. It may take a few minutes, be patient - it's normal for the screen to appear frozen.

96-pixel font: Install this (very large) file on your high-resolution Palm OS handheld to double the width/height of magnified characters in the main screen. This does not affect the size of magnified characters in flashcards (which will continue to appear at their previous size).
Download (zip format, 6867KB) - Palm Only, this is unnecessary on Pocket PC (which uses use outline fonts that can be scaled to any size)
MakePlecoDict: This utility allows you to create your own PlecoDict databases on your desktop Windows PC. Please note that this software is extremely buggy and very early in development - if you're not proficient with computers, you should probably stay away from this for now and stick with PlecoDict's built-in dictionary entry creation feature. Also please note that this software is not to be used with copyrighted, commercially-published dictionaries or anything else that you're interested in protecting; it does not provide any copy-protection capabilities, and we're planning to add a feature in a future version of this software which will extract the text from dictionaries it previously created. So we take no responsibility if you create a dictionary with this and it ends up being stolen, pirated or made available in cleartext format. (nor for that matter do we make any other warranties about this software of any sort whatsoever - use at your own risk) We're planning to include a much better database converter tool in the next major version of PlecoDict, so keep an eye out for that.

ZDT - We don't currently offer a desktop version of PlecoDict (though we're working on one), but a very nice and - even better - completely free dictionary and flashcard program called ZDT has recently added support for exporting its flashcard lists to PlecoDict format. So if you'd like to create and edit flashcard lists on your PC, Mac, or Linux system it's definitely worth taking a look at.
